Rebranding
Rebranding is worth doing when the business has genuinely changed, or when the current brand is actively working against you. It is not worth doing because somebody senior has grown tired of the colour. You will be told which situation you are in before any quote.
What rebranding involves
Working out what to keep
Existing recognition has real value and throwing it away is the most expensive mistake available in this work. The work looks at what customers actually recognise, which is often a colour or a shape rather than the logo, and designs so that equity carries across.
Deciding how far to go
An evolution, a refresh or a complete change are three different projects with three different costs and three different risks. Most businesses that ask for the third need the first, and the ones that genuinely need the third usually know why.
Rolling it out without a long half-changed period
A rebrand looks worst halfway through. The rollout is planned so the visible things change together: signage, vehicles, website, stationery, social profiles and the templates your team uses daily. Then the long tail is worked through.
